Happy International Women's Day.

Hello there!

The birds are chirping, the snow is melting and its WOMEN'S MONTH!!! (March its women's month in case you didn't know) so here is a little bit of history...According to the internet LOL women's day started to be celebrated in the early 1900's, it started as a celebration of women rights in the U.S in 1909 and was celebrated in the last Sunday of February then in 1914 Germany decided to hold women's day in March 8th to commemorate women's rights to vote which they actually didn't get until 1918, now fast-forward to 2021 and March 8th its a global celebration of the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women all over.

Its also a day to celebrate the amazing women in our lives, I've been fortunate to be surrounded by Strong amazing women since I was little, my Mom (a single parent) taught me to be Strong and Independent, I remember before we moved to the states she had to leave my sister and I to make sure everything was ready for us to move here...before she left she promised we would not spend one Christmas without her...a promise she worked hard to keep. I was 12, my sister being the oldest stepped up and made sure I had everything I needed while our mom was gone, She (my sister) has been one of the biggest influences/supporters I've ever had.

I've always looked up to her and should probably tell her that more often LOL we might not always see eye to eye but lets be honest here, who gets along with their siblings all the time.

She's taught me more than I could ever thank her for.

Mother, Sister, wife, Friend, I mean the woman does it ALL.

Not only have I've been lucky enough to have them in my life but I've had the opportunity to work with some truly incredible women. Women that are not only supportive but that also inspire me to be a better chef, and most importantly a better person.

If I told you guys about every single woman that has helped me become the woman I'm today, we would be here for quite some time, I mean really I wouldn't be where I am in my career if it wasn't for all the support, help and inspiration I've gotten from them, whether its a helping hand to get my business started by allowing me to share a space (MELT Chocolatier) or the incredible amount of support I've received from my online community, some of whom I don't even know in person LOL but they cheer me on no matter what ( The Donas project), my ex co-workers with whom I became really good friends with (really more like family, you guys know who you are) that inspire me every day to push myself harder and harder to make my dream of owning a Café a reality, in hopes that one day we can all work together again and create a community that inspires future generations.

I hope you guys have an amazing day

celebrating the women in your life,

don't forget to Support women owned business!

As always, Stay safe. Be kind to each other. And stay tune, You won't want to miss a thing!

XOXO

LiLu!
